Your Score: Neit

Indeed, you are 62% erudite, 45% sensual, 50% martial, and 33% saturnine.

Neit, who was said to have emerged from the primeval water to create the world, is one of the oldest Egyptian Goddesses. Although the Egyptians believed that Neit was of both a masculine and feminine nature, as she was self-produced, she was usually depicted as a woman.

The Egyptians believed her to be an ancient and wise Goddess, to whom the other Gods came if they could not resolve their own disputes. Besides being the ruler of the lower Heavens, she was also the patron to hunt and warfare, domestic arts, mysticism, as well as women and marriage. All this makes her some kind of a ?jane-of-all-trades.?

As a deity, Neit is often shown carrying a bow and arrows, linking her to hunting and warfare, other times she is shown with a sceptre, symbol of rule and power, and the ankh, symbol of life.

Update

Eeep! I don't know where the time has gone - it doesn't seem that long since I posted last, but it's nearly been a month. This year is going so quickly! Nothing much has been happening. I'm nearly over my abcess. There's still some residual swelling that I'm on my second course of antibiotics for. I have to go back to the doctor if it hasn't gone by the time I finish the course. If there's only a little swelling I probably won't bother going back. It's just a nuisance because the hospital is over the other side of the city. Otherwise, I have no problems with it. Pain's gone, ulcer is practically healed ( I was surprised by how fast it healed considering the size).

Got my birthday present from my sister the other day. She sent me one of my favourite NZ magazines and some Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. Australian Dairy Milk is yuck. She also sent some photos of the kids, and I will have to scan them and put them up. Alex has a rash on his legs that my sister wanted my opinion about, so she took photos of them and emailed them to me. Don't you just love technology? LOL!

Work's good. I've been working on the one ward for the past 2 weeks, and I'm back there again this week. It's my usual neurosurgery ward. Last night I did work on the oncology ward. I had a choice between that and the cardio-thoracic ward. I'm glad I went oncology because the other ward ended up with a code blue. So far I've been lucky and have never ever been around a cardiac arrest. The most exciting I've had has been an intubation on the ward, although I have taken a couple of patients through to ICU. I'm on days off at the moment and typical - the weather has turned nasty. It's raining, so I don't feel like going anywhere. Not that I need to today. I've paid my rent, and I dont' have anything else to do. I have milk for my coffees. *g* Ah, the important things! I do dirink more coffee wihen the weather is yuck and I'm home. Especially if I do some writing - coffee helps me think better. Well, it probably doesn't, but it makes me feel more alert!

I have my Cary Grant movie all ready for next month. I've discovered that I can link my bank account with Paypal. I couldn't do that in NZ but I can in Australia. Now I can get ebaying again. Some of his movies aren't that easy to get, I have ended up getting some Asian releases, which I always feel uneasy about. I know that not all Asian copies are illegal, but even when the sellers state that they're not, you can't be too sure. But then, I'm buying in good faith, with honest intentions. I'm going to have to rearrange my shelves again. I might have to put my tv series on a seperate shelf. Hmm, if I do that, then the Cary Grant box sets can be with the Cary Grant movies. I like things in order.

Finally managed to find James Reyne's latest CD. You would have thought that being an Aussie artist, he would be easier to find. I really enjoyed seeing him in concert. So much energy for someone in his 50s. They didn't sell the cd at the venue which I thought was a bit silly considering it was an album launch. Fans will go out and buy it anyway, but it would be the perfect way to catch those who may not have considered buying it. Plus I would have liked a signed copy. *g* I like it a lot more than his last album (not counting his acoustic one which is technically the previous one, as it only had a couple of new songs.)

I'm seriously thinking I should start learning Greek. I have had so many Greek patients with little English. It would make communicating so much easier. That's one thing I really enjoy about being here - the exposure to some different cultures. In Dunedin, there were more Maori and Polynesians.

Random Mutterings

Susan, you are a bad influence! I went shopping yesterday with the aim of buying a cd, but came home with more Cary Grant movies! There was a box set with An Affair to Remember, Kiss Them For Me, Born to be Bad and People Will Talk. At $37 I couldn't leave them there. I bought another box set the other day. That one has Houseboat, To Catch a Thief, That Touch of Mink and Indiscreet. How am I supposed to find time to watch them all??? I have 4 days off coming up, so I might have to start making a dent in them. I did buy my cd as well. *G* It's all your fault! LOL!

Why are tv stations so stupid? The network that plays Veronica Mars started the third series now it's been taken off for Big Brother. Why bother starting in the first place? That's just dumb, and that's how you lose viewers. We were lucky to have seen five episodes. I'd rather have waited and seen a full season. Speaking of Big Brother, as a rule I don't really like reality shows and don't bother with any of them. I must admit that I've been kind of sucked into watching it. It's a bit sad really. LOL!

I have four days off coming up after tomorrow. I really need to work on something for my Jixaversary at the end of the month. I have so many things that I need to finish. I really need to just sit down and do it, no matter how painful it is!

Classic Rock Quiz

The Veteran

You scored 84%!

You've picked up the majority of the classic rock basics. You probably have a classic rock collection and can sing along with most of the songs on your local radio station.

This is not the highest score, but it is arguably the best: that subtle combination of impressive knowledge and not being a pretentious geek.

Christmas Quizzes

Since tomorrow is Christmas Eve, I thought I'd do a couple of holiday-themed quizzes. I must say that for once they're pretty accurate. I don't know about being an angel though. *G*

You Are a Practical Gift Giver

Your gifts are useful, appropriate, and custom tailored to each person.
In your opinion, the best gifts are gifts that someone will actually use.
Your gifts may not be the most glamourous, but they are always appreciated.

Your Holiday Stress Level is Moderate

The holidays sometimes stress you out, but mostly because they wear you down.
Take it easy! You can have a fun holiday without running yourself ragged.

You Are an Angel

A truly giving soul, you understand the spirit of Christmas.

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Very Brady Christmas

For you, it's all about sharing times with family.
Even if you all get a bit cheesy at times.

Just Blathering

Not so smoky today - hot and sticky though. Ick. :( I'm not feeling unbearably hot, just yucky. One of those days where I end up having 2 showers. So much for trying to conserve water. I need to get my hair cut. It's too hot to leave it as long as it is and I don't want to go back to having it tied up. Usually I keep my hair a few cms past my earlobe, but I've been a bit slack lately and it's grown to past my shoulders. I hate having to worry about how my hair looks. I'm someone who washes it, combs it and leaves it to dry by itself. If I scrunch it up it will curl. I cannot be fussed with blowdriers and hairspray etc. Luckily my hair behaves itself most of the time.

A Quiz to finish:

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

I don't mind Spock. Sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to concentrate on making decisions based on logic and not emotion. But then, that's what makes us human.
