Back From NZ

I'm back from spending 2 weeks in New Zealand. I spent most of the time at my mum's, and a couple of days up at my dad's. I finally got to meet my littlest nephew who is just gorgeous. I was even able to catch up with 2 of my cousins which was great. We had a birthday lunch for my nana last weekend, and they were down for that. Even my cat remembered who I was. I had prepared myself for her not wanting to have anything to do with me, but after a few moments, it was as if I had never been away. I miss my cat. :(

I enjoyed having foods that I missed - particular sausages and chocolate (not together because that's just gross!) a cream cake that's only made by one bakery in Hamilton. I picked up a copy of my favourite magazine and some cds of NZ singers I can't get here in Australia. Plus a copy of the Edmond's Cookbook. This is one of the best selling books in NZ. Nearly every household has at least one copy. Now I don't have to email my sister for recipes. Picked up a cheap Cary Grant movie (Penny Serenade).

It was lovely to be away, but it was nice to get back to my own space and bed.

Tomorrow, I really must remember to buy a battery for the smoke alarm. I forgot today, and am having to put up with the sporadic beeping. Feel like tossing it out the window.

Can't wait for NaNoWriMo. I have an idea that I can't wait to get down.
