Update

Not really anything much to say, but thought that I should at least post something.

It's been a bit of a tough week. My dad had a heart attack last week. He's okay. My sister went up and saw him over the weekend, and said that he by the time she was about to leave, he was practically back to his normal self. It's hard being so far away at times like this. I'm planning on going back to NZ in October for a week or two. I got a very nice tax refund that I'm going to use some of for my flights. I just have to decide exactly when to go. I want to avoid the NZ school holidays, and my Nana's birthday is on the 10th, so I'm trying to fit things around those dates. I'll go up and stay with Dad. I wanted to give him some time to recover before having a house guest.

Had a big movie week, this week. On Sunday I went to Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man. Why oh why did they have to include a dreadful version of Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright, and not have the excellent version of The Future by Teddy Thompson? To be fair to Rufus, it wasn't his fault, but that of his sister and the other woman singing. His verses were lovely, but theirs weren't. The whole U2 thing didn't add anything at all. I loved the interview parts with Leonard Cohen.

Then that night I went to a Rear Window/Vertigo double feature. I hadn't seen Vertigo before, and it's always good seeing movies on the big screen. Enjoyed them both muchly. :)

Yesterday my brother and I went to Black Sheep. It's a NZ horror/comedy about genetic engineering gone horribly wrong. Sheep start attacking humans and turning them into were-sheep. I thought it was hilarious. It's along the lines of early Peter Jackson films such as Bad Taste and Braindead.

Have to work this weekend. :P I keep telling myself to think of next year and WDW.
