I now have my own place!
My application was approved for one of the apartments I applied for. It wasn't my first choice, but I'm not going to be fussy. I have the one with the icky green carpet. In some ways I'm happy, the other place had a gas stove - I don't like gas (makes me uneasy)this one has a little bench top oven with hobs on top. Just perfect for me. I had a little oven back in Dunedin and used it more than the oven. I paid the bond today, and will do the paperwork on Friday. I would have preferred to have had everything done today, but that wasn't to be. Does mean another trip to the bank for a cheque on Friday. They'll be knowing me by sight soon!
I have to do so much shopping, but have to wait until pay day. I bought an airbed today so I won't be sleeping on the floor. I even thought to buy a foot pump, because there's no way I'm going to sit there and blow it up! The bed will be useful for when Mum and Tali come to stay. I plan on buying a double bed and Tali will sleep with whoever's in the bed.
I did some window shopping today, just working out which places have the cheapest items. I have to buy everything. It'll probably take a couple of pays to get what I need. First item is a fridge/freezer - it's too hot not to have one. I just hope the shop has nice strong men to drag it up two flights of stairs.
It'll take a couple of trips to move stuff - not that I have much. I'll just catch the bus. It goes past the end of the road here and stops outside the apartment block. I don't have anything too heavy, just my suitcase and some boxes. It's all very exciting for me.
I'm so looking forward to having my own space. :)
