Happy Dancing

Was going to go to the movies tonight but the tram timetable was all mucked up, so I didn't end up going. I went to Borders instead. I'm glad I did! I managed to get a copy of music from Aram Khatchaturian's Spartacus. It is so hard to find anything by this composer, and there were another 2 cds there. I shall return! The other exciting thing was seeing that Sara Dane was released on DVD. I loved that miniseries! I remember watching it back in 1983. It's about a young convict women transported to Australia and how she made her life. Another similar type series was Against The Wind. I used to watch that one with my mother. I'll have to get the DVDs. I also managed to pick up a copy of Sylvia Plath's Ariel really cheap as part of a boxset with other poems, including T.S Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. It was 75% off, so I was able to get it for just over $6. Very happy about that! Know exactly where to get a copy of the movie for the next Cary Grant night. Just need to see if I can get it any cheaper at another place.

For the past 14 weeks I've been going to Weight Watchers. Today I reached my 10% of my weight loss. I have lost 13.5kg (nearly 30lbs). I got my special gold star for reaching 10%, so I'm really happy about that! I'm going to have to go shopping for new pants. The pair I'm wearing are looking a little too baggy now.

I received a lovely reply to some feedback I left on a story in another fandom. :)

Next month my nephew Alex starts school! Eeek! It doesn't seem like 5 years ago that I posted photos of him. That means I've had my camera for nearly 5 years. I bought it especially so that I could take photos of Alex and post them on the net.

I've been listening to my Khatchaturian cd and I've discovered that I have one of the pieces I like from the ballet. I wasn't sure that it was on there, and now it's the last track and it's there! Now I'm going to be humming it for the next hour! LOL! The only thing I don't like about the way it's arranged is that it's not in order of events. This is actually at the start of the ballet, I recognise one of the other parts of the music.

Spartacus is the only ballet I've ever seen in any form. I'd love to see it shown live. I've only seen it on tv and dvd. I'd only want to see it done if they keep the same choreography - I know that there's been an Australian remake, but I like familiarity. *G*

Now I need to settle down and do some writing. Trixie has started speaking to me for the first time in ages.
