update

Not a lot to report. I have finished NaNoWriMo - whew! I'm a good way through a couple of Christmas stories which I'm happy about. I just need to knuckle down and finish them off. I can now sort out one of the stories I wrote and put it in chronological order. I currently have scenes all over the place, but that's nothing unusual to how I write. *G*

I have a new favourite picture theatre. It's an old theatre so it has the kind of atmosphere that the multiplexes don't have. They often show double features, so for $13 I can see 2 movies which is a bargain. They show a mixture of newer movies and older ones. I'm hanging out for next year when they show The Maltese Falcon and Casablanca. Some of the movies they show aren't blockbusters, which is great. It reminds me of one of the cinemas back in Dunedin that showed more unusual films. A good percentage are foreign. The only drawback is that the seats aren't the most comfortable, so one's behind gets rather sore!

Tuesday night I went and saw Teddy Thompson. He's been doing a solo acoustic tour of Australia. He sings folk type music. He has a couple of songs on the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack which is how I got into him. He also pops up with Rufus and Martha Wainwright. The venue was only small, so it was nice and intimate. Teddy seems like a really nice guy. He signed a copy of one of my cds afterward. It was a really good night. Hopefully I'll catch him again one day.
