Update
I've given up trying to think of post titles. *g* Not much to add. I have recovered from my unexpected skating trip. After whinging about having a bruised butt, it ended up that was the least of my problems. I actually sprained my right wrist, but it didn't start hurting until later on that evening and on Monday was really sore. Went to the doctor's to get it checked and he confirmed what I already knew - that it was sprained and not broken. I did get some free pain killers though. I had Monday off work and then went back on Wednesday morning. That was a killer. Despite all the pain relief I was still sore. Because I'm right handed, I couldn't not use my wrist. While I didn't mind asking other nurses for help on some things, I couldn't expect them to help me with everything. By the end of the day I was in agony. I couldn't wear my bandage either because I have to wash my hands about 15 times an hour. I was told to take Thursday off, which I did. I have to work tonight - night shift. It should be fine, I don't have to do the same work as during the day.
Been doing heaps of writing. This challenge is wonderful! I've started a new story thanks to an IM session with Kimberly. We were chucking around fanfic premises, and Kimberly had one that really took my fancy so I've run with it. Kimberly's not into writing so she's given me her blessing to use whatever I want. I've already managed to get 4000 words down, and I only started yesterday. I love it when a story just flows out the way this one's doing.
I'm thinking about taking my laptop to work tonight so I can do some more writing. Usually, if I've written at work I've emailed it to myself and then cut and pasted. This way will be much easier. I think my battery's fully charged, but I'll take the adaptor just in case. I have no idea what the ward's like since I've been away since Wednesday. I'm looking forward to work, as the hospital will be much warmer than my house. I don't see the point on putting the heater on when I'll be leaving in just over an hour. I do have a nice warm cat snuggled up behind me, giving me a little warmth. I'm just dreading getting changed - brrrrr!!
