The end is near

Haven't really been up to much. Work's been busy the past week. Lot's of patients and we've had to go over our numbers. It does makes the shifts go faster though when you're busy. I only have 8 shifts left to work.

Last Friday I met up with some other Postcrossers at McD's. It was nice to see everyone's cards. We're having another get together next month, which I'll just make before I leave. I'm starting to get a little teary at moving. I like it here, but I want to get out and explore while I can. I don't want to look back in 20 years and regret not going. One advantage with having had no family down here since Feb is that I don't feel as if I'm leaving anyone behind. It's not as if Australia's on the other side of the world either - it's a 3 hour plane trip. It usually takes that long just to get from here to Hamilton, with having to change planes.

I have to try and decide where to go for my leaving dinner. I want to combine it with the leaving of our new-grads because I hate being the centre of attention. I have a date - that's a good start! I've mangaged to find a day were the majority of the people I want aren't working. I have to find somewhere that's central so that we can go out afterwards but not too expensive either. I want to find somewhere where we haven't already gone if possible.

Third series of NCIS starts next week - yippeee!!!!! Typical though, just before I leave the country! Have to remember it's on a Tuesday night instead of Sunday.

My sister's pregnant again.

It's freezing down here. I might have to put the heater on, though I don't like having it on during the day - too stingy! LOL!!! The cat wants to snuggle up, but she keeps getting in the way. It's alright for her - she has a fur coat. I woke up the other night to find her lying on my head - dumb critter! I might have to go and have a shower to warm up. I want to go and post a CD to Mum. I found a The Who CD with Boris the Spider on it. I have had that song stuck in my head for the past few days. I need to think about what to have for tea, although I should probably think about lunch first. It's nearly 1300 and I've had neither breakfast nor lunch yet. 2 cups of coffee don't really count.

I've been really spoiled lately. The new grad I precepted was recently on holiday to Sydney and brought me back a giant sized Toblerone bar - yum! It's the longest lasting bar of chocolate I've ever had I think! Then the following day, one of our other nurses brought me some peanut butter cups back from her holiday to New York! They didn't last long. *g* I am so looking forward to Cherry Ripes.
