This and That

I don't really have anything of interest to post, but since it's been awhile, I thought I should scribble something down.

I've been busy playing Sims 2, which is a lot more fun that the original Sims and twice as addictive. I hadn't had it very long before I killed off my first character. Silly woman set herself on fire. Then the Grim Reaper wouldn't change his mind. This left a teenager bringing up his little brother. This is better than any soap opera. *g* I bought the university expansion pack today and have spent the past several hours playing around with that. I was disciplined and wrote my 500 words first. I knew that if I didn't get them out of the road I wouldn't have written anything today.

It's getting really cold now. We've had a couple of lots of snow, though not nearly as bad as further north. They've been without power for the past couple of weeks due to the bad weather. I don't mind working when the weather's like this. It's nice going in to cosy and warm hospital. Especially when I don't have to pay for the heating!

The cat's finding it cold though because she's been snuggling up to be at night. It's not uncommon to find a little furry face next to mine when I wake up in the morning. My room gets so cold that Grizz's fur is damp from my breath. It doesn't seem to worry her though.

We had a doctor's strike throughout NZ from Thursday to Tuesday. We coped really well without them. It was all the junior doctors, so the consultants and anyone not in the union that were providing cover. The rehabilitation ward closed and joined with us, so we got to see some of our old patients.

Burned my first CD yesterday. Finally got around to buying some discs. It's quite amazing really. I just love technology.

Had 2 drug reps come to the ward today to talk about new medications. Scored free food and a pen. We love freebies. *g*
