Avoiding Work
I really should be tidying up, not blogging. So, it's not just with writing I procrastinate. *g* But seriously, is there anyone who loves housework. I love the end product, but not the process. Though I must admit, I'm kind of looking forward to having my hands in nice warm water. Winter has well and truly arrived. We've already had snow on the hills and several mornings of frosts. Those aren't so bad, it's the wind that chills. The southerly comes right off antarctica and you can feel it.
Got a postcard from Germany yesterday, and one from Boston last week. I seem to be sending a lot of cards to Finland, not that it worries me. One of the cards I received from Finland only took four days to arrive. That's even faster than mail from Australia. Maybe it was sent by owl. *g*
I have to go and buy a new vacuum cleaner, but I really don't want to leave the house. I am such a wuss. Maybe it will rain so I can catch the bus instead. It's only a 20 minute walk, and unless the weather is bad, I won't catch the bus. If I have lots of shopping I'll bus home. I also need to pick up some bits and pieces since my sister arrives tonight with Dominic. I have nothing for little boys to eat for breakfast, so I'll have to pick up some weetbix and more milk. I only have low-fat, which isn't good for growing boys. I'll have to pick up some more bread since I eat grained, and my sister only eats white. *sigh*
Work was quiet over the weekend as it's been Queen's Birthday Weekend. I can't remember the last time I had a long weekend. Not so easy to get when you work rotating shifts. I generally only get the weekend off when I'm on holiday. But, the money is really good, and I don't mind having my days off during the week. Sometimes it's easier to do things.
Okay, that's enough procrastinating. I'm off to do some housework!
