Anniversaries must get you reminiscing, because that's what I've been doing these past few days. Just thinking about fanfic and story telling.
I always enjoyed story writing at school, and I remember on one of my school reports my teacher writing that I had a great imagination. I was trying to think of what my first fanfic was. I always thought that it was a very bad The Young Riders one. But I've remembered an earlier one. Some of you may remember The Ginghams. They were a paper doll set of 4 girls (Katy, Carrie, Sarah, Becky) and their grand mother. I had great fun with them. I lost my Becky doll, so she 'died.' I wrote a story for school when I was about 11 entitled Becky's Diary. It ended up with her getting sick and dying. My teacher thought it was sad. I think I went through a morbid patch over the next few years. I wrote two stories in which people got murdered. I'm sure I did write some happier ones! Although I didn't write fanfic, my cousin and I for many years acted out fanfic. We would take tv or book characters and act out our own storylines. Janette and Ruth - remember The Young Doctors? We did a little on that. I remember being Kate Rhodes, other than that I can't remember much, which is probably for the best. We used our Barbies for any kissy stuff. We had great fun! Actually, even our Barbie playing was rather dramatic and involved. We had a shortage of male dolls. One of my barbies had short hair so she always had to fill in as an extra guy.
I tended to write more original work. Most of that has gone, thank goodness! Though I have discovered one or two pieces. During NaNoWriMo, I wrote a large original piece that had been floating around for years. I had put some of it down on paper. I found it a month or two ago and was surprised by how much I had unconciously remembered. I'd changed the setting but some of the character quirks were still there. I also have some very bad poems. I definitely should stick to prose. *g*
Maybe I should take another look at some of my old stuff. As bad as it is, there might be one or two ideas I could use.
Oh my gosh, I just remembered! You know that song Jolene by Dolly Parton? Well, I had plans to write stories based around that. I don't know if I ever wrote anything down.
Back to Trixfic. I'm really unsure of what line to take in my Whisper in the Wind uni. One event was always going to happen. Now I don't know what to do. Does it matter if it doesn't happen? No, because the original purpose has changed. I've discarded that storyline idea. I had also thought that it would be useful for bringing together a couple, but I have other ideas on that. No, I don't think I'll do it. There's other ways of achieving what I want, and there's enough drama coming up. I don't want to be too depressing.
It's so cold, I can hardly wait until I go to work. There are some advantages to working in a nice warm hospital. *g*

Uh, I remember hearing about the Young Doctors, but I was too young to be allowed to watch it. I went to bed at 7.30pm until I went to high school! *g*

are you referring to a tv show called the Young Riders, back in the early 90s, that you wrote fanfic of? I did! I still have them, frighteningly enough. I've thought about redoing them if i ever get the chance. And season one just got released on dvd. If you weren't, then um, I'm on crack. :D -Mal

OMG!!! You had the Ginghams too??? I thought I was the only person on the planet. I never wrote stories about them, but I'd draw pictures of them all the time. BTW Carrie was my favourite. LOL!
Did you know there was a Little Golden Book about them as well?
I don't suppose you had a Holly Hobby Sewing Machine, did you Jane?
