Procrastinating

I'm supposed to be finishing off my story, but I'm doing everything but. I've lost a story somewhere. I can't find it. It's only a few paragraphs and I can remember most of it, but it's just so annoying. I don't think I accidentally deleted it.

I find out this week if my step-mother's able to get me a cheap laptop. I'll be glad to be able to sit in the kitchen instead of sitting here in the hallway freezing my hands off. In my flat, the kitchen and lounge are combined and it's about the same size as the average bedroom. The only place the computer desk fits is in the hallway. In winter it gets very cold and drafty. Because it's drafty I'm reluctant to bring the heater in. If cold air can get in, then warm air can get out. I'm not spending money to heat the air outside. But, when I have my laptop I'll be able to sit in the warmth and have the heater on. Sometime's it's been so bad I have to type with gloves on. It also means I tend to drink more hot drinks just to warm up my hands.

Back to work tomorrow - what a shame! Oh, well. All good things must come to an end. It will be good to catch up with what's been going on. It's amazing what can happen in a couple of weeks, and I haven't seen anyone from work either. I'll have missed out on all the gossip. Actually, I'm the last person to hear any gossip. I guess that's a good thing really.

I think I'll make soup for tea. It's soup weather. I just have to find my recipe book. It's a spicy Asian soup. Has tofu and broccoli in it and is fairly spicy. I don't normally eat tofu and I'm still getting used to the texture. I will have to try frying it because I've heard that it improves it.

My sister is coming down next month for a few days and bringing the littlest nephew. She's going to the wedding of a friend. She wasn't sure if she'd come down or not, but obviously she's decided to. She wanted to bring my niece down but they couldn't afford it.

Have to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Mine blew up. Well, it wasn't quite that dramatic. Crackling noises and the scent of burning. *sigh* It was a good little cleaner. Okay, I've procrastinated enough. I really need to finish this story. It's nearly done. All I just need to tidy a few parts up. Plus, I don't hate it any more. :)

Frying the tofu definitely improves the texture. It's very yummy, actually!
