A Meme

An interesting meme that's been on several blogs and I of course had to do it!

Go to Wikipedia. Type your birth date (but not year) into the search window located on the left-hand side of the screen. List three events that happened on your birthday, two important births, and one interesting death.

Three Events That Happened on My Birthday:
455 - Vandals enter Rome and plunder the city for 2 weeks
1896 - Guglielmo Marconi recieves a patent for his newest invention: the radio
1953 - Coronation of Queen Elizabeth ll. The first to be televised.

Two Important Births:
1840 - Thomas Hardy
1965 - Steve Waugh (plus his twin)

One Interesting Death:
1970 - Bruce McLaren. NZ race car driver, designer and manufacturer.

In other news:

Received another 2 postcards today. One from Finland and one from Spain. The one from Spain was written in Spanish. It was simple enough to translate even though I haven't done anything in Spanish for so long. I did cheat and use babelfish to translate my reply. *g* I'm not sure where my Spanish dictionary is, and it was much faster. I have 3 cards from Finland and 1 from Spain.

Bought Season 1 of Third Watch. I justified it by saying it was research. I've also been watching The Man From U.N.C.L.E movies. They are so funny, especially when David McCallum's accent wobbles around from Russian to English back to Russian again. I was reminded of an episode of NCIS when Kate asked what Ducky looked like when he was younger. Gibbs replied that he looked like a young Illya Kuryakin. That scene cracked me up because David McCallum plays Ducky and played Kuryakin. I'd love to see the entire series. I hope they bring them out on DVD.

I'm still procrastinating, but it is nearly finished. I have got to get it finished tonight so my editors can have some time to edit. I'm very good at leaving things until the last minute.

I really need to go and write.

Yeah, I had a good giggle during that episode of NCIS too. David McCallum looks good for his age, yes?
