Finally Finished!

On This Christmas Day is finally finished, edited and just waiting to be uploaded. Whew! Now I can go back and finished torturing Mart. *g*. Don't fear, Susan, it's not as bad as it sounds - honest! lol!!

It's absolutely freezing here. I might have to put the heater on in the lounge and not spend too long out here on the computer. I do have Grizz cuddled up with me at the moment. It's nice having her furry warm body on my knee, although she is leaning on my arm. It's not the easiest to type. She'll probably get cross and jump off soon.

I had the same 2 patients for the 5 days I've just work (plus others as well.) Don't always get the same continuity of care. Usually 2-3 days with a patient. They liked me looking after them, and told me they'd miss me on my days off. It's nice to feel that you've made a difference to their stay. I do have to tell this story, and I hope no one is offended.

I was putting my little 82 year old patient's compression stockings back on. These are the ones that go right up your thigh. She said that she didn't remember them going up that far. I told her that they do go up a long way. She then said. "All the way up to my pussy?" Seriously, I nearly died. Working in neurosurgery you hear all kinds of language and you learn to brush most of it aside. But this coming from a rather proper lady threw me. I think I squeaked something out and busied myself with the other stocking. When I got to the nurses's station I just got the giggles. One of the other nurses thought that she'd said it earlier but thought she heard wrong.

Received another couple of postcards. I now have 4 from Finland, 1 from Spain and 1 from Slovakia. It's so nice going out to the mail box and getting something other than bills. I've had 2 packages from the U.S in the past few days. One was my fantasitc '03 in 05' challenge t-shirt, and the other was a box filled with peanut butter cups, twinkies, butterfingers and a few other yummy bits and pieces. I was so excited to finally have peanut butter cups. There's a guy in the U.S who sells on one of our auction sites. It was like an early birthday present.

Darn cat has disappeared. It's amazing how much heat those little bodies produce. I should go to the gym but it's too cold to go outside. I do have to go to the dairy because I need milk. Brrrrr!!!
